Barbara J Mole

Barbara was born in Yorkshire and expressed a love of art at an early age.  A relative of the internationally renowned water colourist, Frank Mole, she draws inspiration from his beautifully controlled style of pastoral and architectural scenes, but presently paints mainly in acrylics.  Her main subject at the moment is her local surroundings, which are a constant source of inspiration.  She paints under her family name of Mole.

Having chosen to turn down an offered place at Bradford’s School of Art in favour of a grammar school education, Barbara studied agriculture and worked as research technician in the dairy industry and plant pathology. After living in Lancashire and London she returned to Yorkshire with her husband where bringing up her family filled most of her time.  Recently retired from running a busy B&B and holiday cottage in Scotland’s beautiful Southern Upland Hills, Barbara is looking forward to being able to relax with her painting!
